Arkansas’s forests are living landscapes, filled with remarkable biodiversity and constantly changing with the seasons. Creating A Pocket Guide to Arkansas Forest Health was an opportunity to help tell the story of those ecosystems through thoughtful design. Developed for foresters, landowners, and outdoor professionals, the guide transforms complex information about insects, diseases, wildlife, and environmental stressors into a clear, approachable field companion.
Combining photography, illustrations, and an intuitive layout, the publication encourages readers not only to identify potential threats, but also to develop a deeper appreciation for the intricate relationships that keep Arkansas’s forests healthy and thriving. The guide was produced through a collaboration between the Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division, the USDA Forest Service, and Southern Regional Extension Forestry.
